DOLPHINS CHALLENGE CANCER
New name. New commitment. The Miami Dolphins organization is proud to announce a historic $75 million commitment to Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center to improve the lives of those impacted by cancer.
Dolphins Challenge Cancer aligns with Sylvester's mission to fund research that addresses disparities in care for minority communities, supports medically-underserved populations, identifies ways to reduce risks for firefighters and promotes preventative care habits, among its many initiatives. We have evolved from a stand-alone event to a year-round movement to provide increased awareness, funding and the research needed to save more lives in our community.
CHALLENGE CANCER WITH US
We are kicking off DCC with a campaign to raise $100,000 to fund our first NCI-designated cancer study which will focus on cancer survivorship. There are over 17,000,000 cancer survivors in the United States, that number will grow to over 22,000,000 by 2030. Great advances have been made in clinical care and research leading to improved positive outcomes, however there is a growing need to establish initiatives that support the patients’ journey after successful treatment.
The funding of this study will create unique approaches that manage the medical and psychosocial needs of cancer survivors within a holistic, evidence-based and long-term care approach that incorporates state-of-the-art research conducted by world renown researchers and physicians at Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center.
Become a $20 per month recurring donor or make a one-time gift of $100 to support Sylvester's survivor study and receive the official ONE TEAM ONE FIGHT t-shirt.
